"hidden" staircase

The staircase leading to the bell tower or “trapeira” was built of wood, enclosed by two walls, one of rammed earth and the other of wood-to-pike.

Probably between the 40s and 60s, it had part of its steps removed to install a bathroom on site.

With the restoration of the building, the staircase was restored and re-used to provide access to the bell and audio and video room.
